I remember Arsenio Hall and wonder... where did all of the good black late night talk shows hosts go? Why are there so few and all white?

Blacks only comprise 10% of the population of the US, so they only end up representing about 10% of the TV talk show hosts. Oprah has the category nailed down.

i don't know...I liked arsenio hall too, but for years. late night time hosts were generally black...I like watching Tavis Smiley...he is good...

you know that is a good question. I have thought that very same question, the ones that I have seen, seem to be volguar in their speach and I don't go for that. I like Tyra Banks she get down with people on their level, but that again is during the day. I remember when we had Benson's and different ones like that, but it seems they don't seem to make many good family shows any more

Arsenio stunk! That's why he's off the air. Oprah doesn't stay up late at night and besides she USED to be one of my favorite TV show hosts until I found out that she doesn't believe in Jesus. Bill Cosby would be a GREAT host because he is funny and very down to earth.

Race has nothing to do with anything. But Arsenio is the greatest Late Night Show ever.

I don't think it's race because most of the white hosts aren't very good. I think it's WHO YOU KNOW.

Good question. My personal favorite is Tavis Smiley. His show is more topical. I catch him on PBS sometimes in the wee early hours of the morning.
