My favourites (and I miss them dearly, Rap is going downhill nowadays):
- Nelly - Jay-Z - Tupac - Left Eye - Notorious B.I.G - Nas - Run DMC - Skee-Lo - Warren G - Mase - Eve - Ruff Ryders - MOP - Salt n' Pepper Modern Greats: - Jay-Z -Eminem -Missy Elliot - T.I. - Ludacris - Nas - P.Diddy Rap needs all the classic people like the above. Its going downhill. It needs another "Tupac" or "B.I.G" I got a whole list...email me for more if u want. |

There's a really wonderful book that just came out on the subject entitled CHECK THE TECHNIQUE. It's sort of an oral history of landmark hip hop albums from 86-96. It's terribly interesting.

Some of the classic hip-hop pioneers:
De La Soul A Tribe Called Quest NWA Beastie Boys Public Enemy Run DMC Nas Jay Z (older stuff, new stuff ain't good) Hip-hop is what's on life support, not rock...the stuff that MTV promotes is a deceit |
