David Cook and David Archuleta faced off last night on American Idol. David Archuleta may have been the Judges favorite, but I disagree. He played it safe, as usual, and did all Ballads. However David Cook, once again, took a risk and did three different styles of music. He showed his versatility, which is a sign of a seasoned performer! He also didn't play it safe by going with an audience favorite (Billy Jean), which Archuleta did with “All The Lonely People”, instead he sung a song that he felt from his heart, a song that he took a chance on, and in my opinion, was well worth it! Don't get me wrong, Archuleta is a cute kid, has a beautiful voice, but does not have the stage presence, the experience, and the versatility that Cook has. David Cook has "worked" his way to where he is at and deserves to be recognized for that achievement!

So now that I have said what I wanted to say, who do you think "DESERVES" to win, not who is the cutest kid?? David Cook or David Archuleta???
AKA FrogButt .........If you read ALL of my question, you would see that I DID say that David A has a beautiful voice. Also you are WRONG! Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell are Music Executives and they have stated MANY TIMES that they are looking for someone who is a total package. This means someone who can not only sing, but one who has stage presence and someone who can sell records! I don't know what kind of concerts and music programs you watch, but if they can't entertain me along with singing, I am not impressed!
♥Curly♥....Apperantly we have been watching a different show! Archuleta plays it safe with every Ballad he sings! David Cook however is so versatile that he can nail a Ballad or a Rock song! Also people like David A's voice is heard everyday on the radio. Yes David Cook is a Rocker, but he does it with heart, with stage presence and with a music versitality that Archuleta couldn't touch if he wanted to!
Laura.....Well sweetie Weber is just ONE mans opinion, wherefore the polls are showing Cook as the favorite, and that is Millions of voters! David Cook is a rocker, which a Raspy Voice ( yours and Webers idea of shakey) is a natural, and a well liked sound. Look at singers such as Rod Stewart, Huey Lewis, Bonnie Raitt, Tracey Chapman, Mellissa Etheridge, Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Joan Jett, Bette Midler, just to name a few! They all have the "shakey voice" as you two put it and have gone on to be Multi Platinum Artisits!

LOVE iswhatweaimfor .....I agree with you. It seems like Randy and Simons voting has been swayed a little from what they were saying early on. They liked David Cooks versatality and said many times that Archuleta was playing it safe. Makes you wonder, huh? Well it all comes down to who is the "peoples" favorite and all the polls you go to on the web, show Cook as a strong favorite to win.........Rock On David Cook!

David Cook deserves the title. The little guy is merely singing safe ballads with his pristeen choir boy voice.

I totally agree with you. Not to be rude, but I thing David A. is a Cruise ship singer. He has a great voice, but look and listen to what David C. has done and been...rock, ballad, soul....writes music...versitale...etc...

Both men are handsome and both are extremely talented, however, I would have to agree with Mr Andrew Lloyd Webber and say that David Cook's voice sort of shakes, like a garggley sound now and then. It is nice,but not clear. David Archuleta has a quality voice. it is very clear and doesnt shake that same way. He took the song that was give to him, an elton john song, and sang it in heights that really painted a picture of musical notes just flowing through the air and hitting one's soul. so, even though, just like little David in the bible, he doesn't have the versatility, experience or presence...he will defeat to win....we all have giants in our lives, and we may not be the most eloquent speakers or the most beautiful ones, but God brings us out to show his glory into every man's world...and I believe this is what has happened with David Archuleta...and I know he deserves to win..look at the way the music producers and big stars would look at him..there is a presence, David has the presence that tugs to the souls of man... well, my votes were for David Archuleta.

David Cook is the most talented. But both are deserving of the win and neither's career is going to suffer either way.

Honestly, I think Archuleta is more of a Broadway, Cruise ship singer, whereas Cook is more all around talented. David Cook deserves to win, and will go much further in his career than David Archuleta
