Are you ready for this... lol ?
right I've been thinking about this for some time and was wondering if anyone could shed some light. Charlie slater lives with his late wifes mother MO harris ,if her granddaughter is stacey why has she got the surname slater because charlies wife would have taken his surname - wouldnt she? so how did she become stacey slater. I know its just a soap but is it just me or have eastenders messed up? thanks xx lol candy haha sorry lol lady Candy - yes it is her brother but why does she call Mo nan? candy thats my point! haha |

I think Stacey just calls her Nan as a courtesy rather than her being actually related living in the same house as she does

You're right. Sean Slater wouldn't be a Slater either. Their mum is Charlie's sister therefore not a Slater (assuming she got married at some stage) very good point, very well made!

Especially as she is technically Stacey Branning.
Her mother is also Jean Slater so maybe she reverted to her maiden name after the death of her husband. |

is charlie slater not staceys mums brother?if so then that just means that stacey has her mums maiden name.
moe is called moe harris,she is not a slater! edit. maybey because everyone else does?? lol ahh bloody soaps |

Mo isn't Stacey's real Nan, she only calls her Nan because at the time she moved in with them, some of the Slater sisters were still living at home, and obviously called Mo Nan, I think Stacey just did the same, even though she isn't a true blood relative. Stacey is the daughter of Charlies nephew apparently, so he is really Great Uncle Charlie

Charlie and Jean are not brother and sister. Jean was married to Charlies brother who died therefore Jean, Sean and Stacey are all Slaters so Charlie is Stacey and Sean's uncle and Mo is nan by proxy. Roy Slater used to be married to Raquel Turner! ;)

Carol G is the only one who is right. Stacey's dad was Charlie's brother, but he died.

Stacey is charlies niece ...Mo not her gran as she was the mother of charlies wife so it's just a courtesy title now her mother Jean and brother Shaun have arrived it should all fall into place ...........she was brought in to replace the daughters as they were all leaving the programme over a short time ........however they never ring or call round to see their dad which one would expect in reality

Her mum Jean is not Charlie's sister but his sister-in-law. She was married to Charlies other brother (not the paedo played by Michael Elphick), and Sean killed him.
